Black-Owned Business Spotlight: My Journey to Starting Sweetest Massage & Therapy
Every business has a story—but mine started with a single moment on a massage table.
I had no idea how much tension I was holding until someone helped me let it go. That one session changed me. I left feeling lighter, freer, and more connected to myself than I had in years. I knew then—I wanted to help others feel the same. And that’s how Sweetest Massage & Therapy was born.
✊🏽 Why Representation in Wellness Matters
As a Black woman, stepping into the wellness space wasn’t just about starting a business—it was about changing the narrative. Our communities have often been underserved or overlooked when it comes to holistic care. I wanted to create a space where people could feel:
Seen
Safe
Cared for with intention and integrity
Sweetest Massage & Therapy isn’t just a massage studio—it’s a healing sanctuary. A place where therapeutic touch meets emotional support, where relaxation and restoration go hand in hand.
💼 The Business Journey
Starting my practice in 2013 wasn’t easy. I left a career in sales, leaned into purpose, and built my business from the ground up. Over the years, I’ve:
Earned my credentials
Expanded my offerings
Invested in tools like infrared sauna therapy, spa touches, and medical massage techniques
Collaborated with other phenomenal Black women to form Regenerative Self Care & Wellness
Being a Black-owned, woman-led business is part of my identity—but more than that, it’s a promise to serve my community with authenticity, compassion, and excellence.
🤝 Collaboration Is Power
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been joining forces with other like-minded women in wellness. Our collective, Regenerative Self Care & Wellness, isn’t just about referrals—it’s about real support, sisterhood, and creating access to whole-body healing.
From chair massage and mental health to nutrition and workout plans, and hormone therapy, we’re working together to give our clients something rare: comprehensive care in a safe and welcoming environment.
💬 Your Turn:
Supporting Black-owned businesses is about more than a hashtag—it’s about recognizing the power of ownership, legacy, and healing rooted in lived experience. Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m just getting started.
